Following the success of the 2010 Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival in Singapore, the 9th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival 2012 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bringing together harmonica enthusiasts and performers from all over the world.This prestigious biennial event attracts participants from all over the world, including countries across the Pacific Rim such as Malaysia, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Philippines, India, Polynesia, Thailand, Hawaii, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, the United States (California), and more.

Notably, Chong Ah Kow is an internationally acclaimed harmonica player. In 1989, he won the Tremolo Harmonica Solo Championship at the 2nd Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival in Trossingen, West Germany, with his performance of “Fengyang Flower Drum.”
